Instructional Tutoring for Student Achievement

Program Description

Students in grades 2 – 6 enjoy participating in the ITSA afterschool tutoring program at Thorner Elementary. Small groups of ten students receive intensive reading or math instruction for six weeks. The students meet three times per week with one teacher after school.

How does my child qualify for this program?

Teachers recommend students to participate in the program based on the following criteria:

• Retained students
• Students at risk of being retained
• Students who score Basic or Below on CST
• Parent Request/Student Intervention Team
